Who We Are - and What We Do

What do you actually need? Food, clothing and shelter. Everything else is entertainment - Aloe Blacc

At Eco Friendly Shelters, we strive to create efficient and affordable green living spaces that reduce energy and material consumption beginning from pre-construction and lasting throughout the life of the shelter.

EcoFriendly is different than most green builders in that we employ a practical approach to get the most "bang for your green buck." This simply means using conventional green building components more intelligently in order to achieve a high green standard without dramatically increasing costs. A common misconception is that green building is very expensive, and uses only the latest (and most expensive) technology. We test out a lot of products that are utilized for off-grid living. Along with our suggestions and reviews, our visitors have an opportunity to obtain products that are reasonably-priced, eco-friendly, tested rigorously.

The reality is that it is possible to achieve a truly green home without creating significant up-front costs for the homebuyer/builder. Eco Friendly Shelters is able to achieve this by making smart construction choices and avoiding the added cost and customization of green technologies that price most buyers out of the green homes market.

Eco Friendly Shelters is a Non-Profit Community Foundation. Our Foundation is based on Real People with Knowledge, Wisdom, and Positive Energy! We help build local communities through education and hands-on experience. We offer valuable information and resources to anyone who seeks affordable EcoFriendly solutions to traditional "cookie-cutter" construction.

We approach any construction project from the four elements approach:

airAIR  (Ventilation, skylights, space)

fireFIRE  (Solar ovens, heating, alternative power)

waterWATER  (Sustainable water, rainwater collection, grey water discharge)

earthEARTH  (Earth used in sandbags, permaculture and forest gardening, salvaged lumber and building materials)
